During the month of June 2011, Torkom’s blog articles #76 - 80 will focus on the theme of the Great Invocation and the significance of saying this mantram by the formation of triangles. The Great Invocation is a world prayer of great potency and healing. It is a mantram that helps us focus on the Divine energies of Truth, Love, and Purpose. When we say the Invocation, it allows these energies to flow into our everyday lives and thereby uplift us to our true Divine nature. We can say this mantram to inspire us individually and heal us with Divine Energy; or we can say this mantram in concert with others to inspire and heal a greater part of humanity.
You must remember that all of this must be performed in a totally relaxed and joyful way. No stress or strain must be attached to this sacred work. Any time you feel that you are tense, nervous or exhausted, rest, find yourself and relax before saying the Great Invocation, even if you are an hour late.
You can sit cross-legged if you wish; you can sit on a chair, or if outside, on a rock. Wherever you sit, try to hold your spine erect and relaxed. Do not mix any other meditation practices with this task. Give special attention to it, and really make it special. You can even light a candle, burn a stick of sandalwood incense, and dress in a special, beautiful, clean robe for saying the Great Invocation.
All of these practices are helpful, but they are not necessary if you are ready to concentrate, focus fully and uplift yourself to a higher state of consciousness. In this sense, concentration is an intense focus of mental energy, charged with the purpose of this great mantram, carried to the Soul, or to Hierarchical spheres, demanding an answer, which is called evocation.
This means that, as much as possible, the person should concentrate his mind on the meaning of the Great Invocation, fixing his mind on the “door” upon which he will knock by sounding it. He should not allow any random thoughts to enter his mental sphere which interfere with his concentration.
It sometimes happens that unexpected guests will arrive at the time you are preparing to say the Invocation. You can still do it. Invite them in and tell them that you will be with them in a few minutes. Then go to your private room, close the door, and detach yourself as much as possible. Forget your guests, and enter the sanctuary of your Soul. Communicate with the centers of Light, Love and Power. Then after a minute of silence, return to your guests. It is very likely that they will notice a new beauty in your face and mannerisms, and greater wisdom in your words.
If you are driving along the highway at the appointed time, pull your car to the side and park for a few minutes while you attend to your triangle work. You will drive with greater joy and relaxation thereafter.
